Our client is an established and blue-chip PE/investment firm based in town. It invests in private equity funds, focusing on the development and innovation of new investment platforms and products to make private equity (“PE”) accessible to a broader group of investors. For this role, you will work in a fintech entity that is owned 100% by this renowned investment firm. Prior fintech exposure is required.
Reporting to the CEO of the firm and the Head of Finance and Ops at the HQ level, you will perform a hands-on finance and ops role as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the finance, fund, and cash operations for the management company and investment holding entities.
- Finance duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate financial records for the organization.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing, recording, and payment of invoices.
- Prepare management reports and analysis for management decision-making.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare, submit, and comply with MAS regulations for the licensed entity.
- Coordinate and facilitate external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Fund & Cash Operations duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the operation management of the funds/accounts and related monitoring and coordinating.
- Collaborate closely with the investment team, investor relations team, fund administrator, custodians, and external partners to provide timely operational support for daily issues.
- Evaluate service quality and contracts of external service providers to improve fund operations and protect company interests.
- Provide inputs on accounting and tax structuring for onboarding new investments.
- Work closely and coordinate with all business units and external parties, including fund administrators, banks, auditors, and tax agents, to support regular reporting deliverables and deadlines.
- Participate and provide inputs in new workflow, system implementation, and project coordination.
- Initiate efficiency improvements to control enhancements.
- Participate in other work processes and ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance/ACCA/CA Equivalent with 10-12 years of experience.
- Experience working in a fintech environment is highly preferred. Strong candidates with PE/investment exposure (without fintech industry exposure) will also be considered.
- Strong in setting up processes/policies/systems/controls in a fintech firm.
- Good understanding of SFRS(I) and private equity funds investment.
- Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to cover both the finance and funds/cash ops aspects (per the job description above).
- Ability to dive deep on ambiguous challenges and deliver actionable insight.
- Meticulous and able to work independently with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen learner with a positive attitude, motivated, and flexible to work in a small office environment.
- Aptitude in standard computer software (including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Oracle experience is a nice-to-have but not a must.
