The Opportunity
MMA has an exciting opportunity for a junior Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, this role will be responsible for providing internal and external stakeholder support with a high level of customer service in the accounts receivable relevant responsibilities in accordance with the company policies. This is a full-time permanent position based in our Singapore office.
Key Responsibilities
- Source all relevant documentation and data required for collation of charges.
- Creating invoices from contract terms and conditions.
- Review, verify and collate applicable costs chargeable to the client and create accurate invoices.
- Accountable for Accounts Receivable invoices in the Company accounting system, including accurate data entry, tracking invoices and reporting.
- Accountable for Accounts Receivable invoices in the Client accounting system, including accurate data entry, tracking invoices and reporting data entry of invoices and supporting documentation into client systems.
- Accountable for receiving payment for invoices charged to the client, including debt collection, cash receipts and bank reconciliation functions.
- Compliance with month end timeline.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice and information on the Company's accounts receivable policies and procedures.
- Provide updates and information to stakeholders on the payment of invoices.
- Ad-hoc support to the finance team.
Required Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in an Account Receivable role / function.
- Creating invoices.
- Well organised and able to work efficiently in inputting and processing large volumes.
- Planning & scheduling - identifying and prioritising key tasks and dependencies to meet external/internal deadlines.
- A systematic approach to work and effective time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable Experience
- Offshore maritime / shipping industry experience.
- Dealing with multiple entities / companies.
- Dealing with multiple currencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Accounting Software and / or SharePoint.
- Experience using an ERP.
- Demonstrable analytical capabilities.
- Self-motivated - ability to interpret what is required and actively undertake tasks with minimal supervision.
