Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. In this role, you will provide essential support to the accounting department in various functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and contributing to the smooth running of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
2. Provide support in processing payroll for both office staff and ship crew, including data entry, verifying timesheets, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
3. Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing payments to vendors, recording customer receipts, and managing outstanding invoices.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the general ledger system.
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
6. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure that bank records match company records, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
7. Assist in managing cash flow, monitoring account balances, and ensuring timely payments.
8. Provide support to the accounting team with other accounting-related inquiries and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar accounting role.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
