Accounting Specialist (GL / Education Industry)

Our client is a private tertiary institution. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting an Accounting Specialist to be part of their Finance Team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the Central - easily accessible.

Duties of Accounting Specialist:

• Financial Closing: Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and review GL schedules, AR/AP reports, and update currency exchange rates.
• Bank Reconciliation: Conduct bi-monthly bank reconciliations and ensure follow-up on outstanding items.
• Management Reporting: Prepare financial reports, cash flow statements, and business performance analysis.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and financial model maintenance.
• Audit & Compliance: Support external audits, tax filings, GST returns, and corporate secretarial matters.
• Variance Analysis: Track and analyze deviations between actual and planned revenue/expenses.
• Financial Systems Support: Troubleshoot and enhance financial systems and processes.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare statutory reports and submit financial data to relevant authorities.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Handle additional tasks as required by the company.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting / Finance with ACCA Certification.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
