Summary of the role
As the Accounting Manager for Bio-Rad's Singapore, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing essential accounting processes, and supporting compliance with tax, local statutory reporting, and SOX audits.
You will oversee intercompany activities, procure-to-pay (PTP), fixed asset management, capital expenditure (CAPEX), payroll administration, and lead a dedicated team to drive operational excellence.

In this role, you will:
- Lead Financial Reporting, Month-end & Year-end Close:
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, US GAAP, local GAAP, and corporate financial guidelines.
- Ensure SOX and Audit Compliance:
- Coordinate SOX audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and providing necessary documentation.
- Prepare balance sheet schedules and data for statutory reporting and SOX audit requirements.
- Manage Intercompany and Fixed Asset Accounting:
- Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations with other Bio-Rad subsidiaries.
- Manage fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation, according to standards.
- Coordinate the CAPEX budgeting and approval processes.
- Local Statutory and Tax Reporting:
- Prepare and submit local statutory reports and tax returns, including GST filings.
- Address auditor and tax consultant queries to ensure timely filing and compliance.
- Support Payroll Administration:
- Assist in payroll processing and SOX compliance with local regulations, including filing IR21 and IR8A forms.
- Lead the Accounting Team:
- Mentor and develop the accounting team through training and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Oversee Key Accounting Processes (RTR and PTP):
- Manage the Record-to-Report (RTR) process, ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance.
- Oversee Procure-to-Pay (PTP) activities, including vendor management, invoice processing, and payment disbursement.
- Drive Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and implement best practices.
- Participate in and lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes and efficiencies.
What you bring- Recognized accountancy qualification (e.g., ICPAS) or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Advanced certifications in accounting (CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in accounting management, with experience in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, SOX audit processes, and working in multinational or complex organizational structures.
- Experience managing the full accounting cycle (RTR, PTP, Intercompany) and payroll administration.
- Proficient in SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience and proven ability to guide and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
