Our client is seeking an accounting professional to supervise daily operations in accounts payable, receivable, and ledger maintenance while ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities:
Develop operational plans to meet company goals and objectives.
Set group goals, manage execution, and measure outcomes.
Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries and statements, assisting with monthly closing and accounting reports.
Verify the accuracy of accounting data processing.
Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including task assignment, review, and evaluation.
Document procedures and identify process improvements.
Oversee accounting systems, including enhancements and changes.
Resolve account discrepancies.
Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
Select, manage, evaluate, and develop staff, fostering effective teams and providing coaching and development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and coordinate audit requests.
Prepare monthly reconciliations and summary reports.
Respond to verbal and written inquiries and resolve complaints.
Assist with and coordinate special accounting projects.
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
5 years of commercial accounting and supervisory experience required.
External audit experience from the start of your career is value added.
Regional and hands-on experience with full spectrum of accounting is preferred.
Understanding of accounting theory and application of principles and practices.
Familiarity with financial record-keeping and reporting principles.
Ability to prepare accurate and complete financial reports.
