Accounting Manager - GH

Our client is seeking an accounting professional to supervise daily operations in accounts payable, receivable, and ledger maintenance while ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop operational plans to meet company goals and objectives.
• Set group goals, manage execution, and measure outcomes.
• Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries and statements, assisting with monthly closing and accounting reports.
• Verify the accuracy of accounting data processing.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including task assignment, review, and evaluation.
• Document procedures and identify process improvements.
• Oversee accounting systems, including enhancements and changes.
• Resolve account discrepancies.
• Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
• Select, manage, evaluate, and develop staff, fostering effective teams and providing coaching and development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and coordinate audit requests.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and summary reports.
• Respond to verbal and written inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Assist with and coordinate special accounting projects.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of commercial accounting and supervisory experience required.
• External audit experience from the start of your career is value added.
• Regional and hands-on experience with full spectrum of accounting is preferred.
• Understanding of accounting theory and application of principles and practices.
• Familiarity with financial record-keeping and reporting principles.
• Ability to prepare accurate and complete financial reports.
