Accounting Executive

Our Retail business (Ladies shoes/ handbags) - Sam Edelman is expanding the footprints to Southeast Asia and would like to invite high caliber candidates to join the Accounting team in Singapore. Please apply directly if you are interested in the position.

Responsibilities:

Receivables

1. Reconcile sales transactions (Accounting vs POS) for all stores
2. Reconcile merchant statements, cash receipts, and banks
3. Post all receipts in the accounting system
4. Submit monthly sales to landlords
5. Ensure timely collections from wholesale customers

Payables

1. Save all vendors' invoices in shared folder
2. Record and verify vendors' invoices to be approved by respective approvers
3. Post vendors' invoices in accounting system
4. Preparation of payments
5. Check & verify staff reimbursements & petty cash
6. Post all payments in accounting system
7. Post all IC invoices
8. Prepare & post IC payments
9. Reconcile IC balances & prepare monthly IC summary
10. Prepare standard monthly prepaid expenses & accruals
11. Post payroll JV
12. Update monthly audit schedules

Bank

1. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
2. Download monthly bank statements

Others

1. Liaise with merchants on payment types & terminals set up (new stores or additions)
2. Collect cash proceeds from stores for banking in twice a month
3. Support in annual audits and tax filings
4. Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification
2. 2 years of experience in related fields, ideally with experience in retail accounting. More experienced applicants will be considered as Senior Accounting Executive
3. A team player with good interpersonal & organization skills
4. Willing to learn
5. Detail-oriented and be hands-on in work deliverables to meet deadlines
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
