The Account Director is accountable for client relationships including overall client satisfaction across multiple key and/or anchor accounts and manages client expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time and within budget.

You will oversee growth of existing accounts and bring in new targeted business, strategically looking at ways to grow our client-base and offerings in the whole Asia region.

This role will work across agency departments to grow profitable revenue and ensure the creative solution and integrity is protected. This is an Asia-wide role based out of Singapore.

What You’ll Be Doing

Client management

  • Understand clients’ business and business issues and act as executive-level advisor, anticipating long-term needs
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring that all client needs are listened to, understood and responded to in a timely way
  • Develop solutions that leverage agency offering and are mutually beneficial for the client and the agency
  • Establish process and implement best practices within Account Management group and other teams as needed
  • Collaborate with Creative and Production to ensure all agency solutions address the business need
  • Be a champion of extraordinary work – by providing inspiration, leadership and expertise in the agency’s offerings
  • Exceed expectations with the overall quality of the work (ideas and impact), yielding recognition from the industry, award shows and our clients
  • Lead and deliver new and organic business efforts including RFI, RFQ and RFPs for new and existing clients

Growing key accounts

  • Grow client revenue and oversee client profitability
  • Lead client ROI
  • Lead contract negotiations
  • Develop award submissions and case studies

Driving new business

  • Lead office efforts to pursue and win new clients and convert warm leads and opportunities into established accounts
  • Qualify and respond to new opportunities based on ability to meet profitability, growth and fame objectives including research, networking and scoping discussions.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with a network of senior stakeholders across various markets and industries.
  • Manage RFP, RFI and RFQs by leading cross-functional teams, overseeing pitch budget, timeline and providing strategic consultation and evaluation on responses

Team/culture leadership

  • Develop and grow account team
  • Support Account Director(s) to run the team and advise on day-to-day challenges as they arise
  • Act as consultant to Account Director(s) to manage significant changes and/ or challenges within accounts
  • Ensure development of talent by providing ongoing constructive feedback and mentorship to Account Director(s)
  • Proactively identify and recruit top talent within the industry

For this role you’ll need

  • Organisational sophistication. You are fluent in core organizational drivers, priorities and concerns. You can use this knowledge to tailor influence and guide creative strategies with a clear sense of organizational impact.
  • Strong sales drive. You establish lofty goals and act creatively to win new business that represents growth for Jack Morton. You may create cross-business unit synergies or identify opportunities triggered by market forces impacting the client. You act as an “ambassador” for Jack Morton with C-level buyers from the client system.
  • Influencing others. You build long-term relationships to enhance abilities to impact and influence others. You are recognized as a role model, coalition builder and orchestrator for successful outcomes.
  • Business vision. You formulate and implement strategic long-term plans for both Jack Morton’s business and our clients’ businesses. You are fluid, agile and timely in the implementation of long-term strategic plans and tactical actions.

If you can do all that, you have what it takes. It might help if you have…

  • At least twelve (12) years of experience in brand marketing and brand experience, with at least three in the agency industry.
  • Proven track record of client growth and success
  • In-depth knowledge of events, marketing, digital, brand positioning, trends and changing marketplace realities
  • Strong leadership skills and competencies: business vision, creative thinking, accountability for results, client focus, developing others, team leadership, cross-organization collaboration
