1 year Contract Project Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Safety, on-time schedule, within budget, and as per the quality standard are the main purposes of the position.
• Responsible for directly managing contractors and the front-line workers, supervising the construction works, providing pro-active solutions, and coordinating with the project manager and other company executives to keep the project on track.
• Handle paperwork on day-to-day site work simultaneously. Escalate any issue to the project manager if unable to solve it personally. Direct control over supervisors around the site.
• Review all plans and status reports, monitoring and highlighting issues to the Project Manager in case of escalation.
• Coordinate with contractors, operations, other subproject contractors, and any outside stakeholders at the job site.
• Obtain daily, weekly, and monthly reports from contractors and provide them to the Project Manager.
• Review project deliverables and take corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, standards, and specifications.
• Support the Quality Engineer for inspections.
• Provide direction to the site contractor team in case of any issues.
• Review design consultants' drawings and integrate them into the project.
• Review documents issued for construction based on levels and dimensions to match existing drawings.
• Coordinate with different departments such as Operations and Engineering.
• Coordinate with QP and contractors.
• Commence project work from proposal stage to completion.
• Capable of executing additions and alterations, warehouse, laboratory, pipelines, process plant, and demolition projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 4 to 7 years of working experience in multi-discipline, preferably in petrochemical, oil and gas, or chemical industries.
• Proven project execution and supervision skills in petrochemicals, oil and gas, or chemicals industries.
• Knowledge of relevant national and international codes and standards (SS, BSEN, ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of construction in ASU/HYCO/CO2 plants is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, electrical, controls, pipeline, mechanical, civil, and structural aspects.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD is preferable.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels.
