As we expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC, hydraulics, and fire systems, along with extensive site supervision experience, to join our team.

Your new role, what's involved

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Engineer with significant experience in site supervision for construction consultancy projects. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installations, including HVAC, hydraulics, and fire systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide on-site supervision and technical support for mechanical construction activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, hydraulics, and fire systems.
2. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that mechanical works are executed according to project plans, schedules, and budget constraints.
3. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
4. Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
5. Coordinate with other disciplines, such as electrical, civil, and architectural, to ensure integration and coordination of mechanical works with overall project requirements.
6. Resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and conflicts related to mechanical design and construction activities, and provide timely solutions to keep the project on track.
7. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, highlighting key accomplishments, challenges, and upcoming activities.
8. Conduct site meetings with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to discuss project progress, issues, and resolutions.
9. Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical construction works in Saudi Arabia.
10. Mentor and coach junior engineers and site staff, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to enhance their skills and performance.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on site supervision for construction consultancy projects.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
4. Strong technical knowledge and expertise in HVAC, hydraulics, fire systems, codes, standards, and practices.
5. Proven experience in site supervision, construction management, and quality control/assurance for projects such as universities, hotels, residential buildings, and office complexes.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with project stakeholders and team members.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
9. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
10. Knowledge of local regulations and construction practices in Saudi Arabia is a plus.
