The Role
As Assistant Finance Manager, you will support the Finance Manager in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic goals. Your role will involve assisting in financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and compliance activities while fostering a culture of transparency and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial health and contribute to data-driven decision-making.

- Financial Reporting & Analysis Support
- Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
- Support compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to the Finance Manager.
- Aid in the monthly/quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Help prepare presentations for senior management on financial performance and forecasts.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Assistance
- Collaborate with departments to gather data and support the annual budgeting process.
- Assist in developing financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgets, and highlighting discrepancies.
- Update financial models to reflect changing business conditions and operational needs.
- Provide administrative support during budget reviews and adjustments.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Support
- Monitor daily cash flow activities and assist in preparing liquidity reports.
- Support accounts receivable/payable processes to optimize working capital efficiency.
- Track cash flow forecasts and flag potential liquidity risks to the Finance Manager.
- Aid in reconciling bank statements and ensuring timely collections/payments.
- Cost Control & Process Efficiency
- Assist in reviewing departmental expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the implementation of cost-control initiatives to enhance profitability.
- Help streamline financial processes (e.g., invoice approvals, expense tracking) to reduce inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure resource optimization.
- Team Collaboration & Development
- Mentor junior finance staff, providing guidance on tasks like data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on accounting software, regulations, and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative environment by sharing insights and supporting cross-departmental projects.
- Compliance & Internal Controls
- Assist in maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Support internal audits and help prepare documentation for external audits.
- Monitor compliance with tax filings, financial regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Report discrepancies or risks to the Finance Manager promptly.
- Strategic & System Support
- Aid in developing financial models for business cases, investments, or scenario analysis.
- Support the implementation of financial systems/software to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in evaluating financial risks (e.g., currency, credit) and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and operations to enhance integration of financial data across platforms.
