DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the team:

As we continue to grow, we need to work smart to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. We’re seeking a driven EHS Officer to help drive health and safety across our fulfillment center in Riyadh.

In this crucial WHS position, you’ll report to the WHS Manager.

  1. Lead site risk assessment for current and new activities.
  2. Establish site WHS training matrix.
  3. Lead implementation of site-specific WHS standards and guidelines.
  4. Lead implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
  5. Promote a safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefings.
  6. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site.
  7. Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
  8. Attend to incidents and occupational injury cases on site.
  9. Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write-up, and communication of lessons learned.
  10. Assist the Ops team in Gensuite follow-up sheets and CAPA creation.
  11. Audit record-keeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
  12. Ensure PPE inventory at site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
  13. Conduct Key Safety Requirement (KSR) Audit weekly assignments, monitoring, and support.
  14. Ensure basic Fire Fighting training and first aid training completion.
  15. Conduct daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release inspections and communications.
  16. Monitor and support the Daily Action Tracking System.
  17. Participate in site management safety walks, providing insight into unsafe acts and conditions to management.
  18. Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, KSR, ATS, network actions, etc.
  19. Prepare WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write-up, and ATS creation.
  20. Review and sign off on the Daily Permit to Work.
  21. Lead on WHS-related procurement and follow up.
  22. Prepare emergency response plans.
  23. Manage and conduct emergency drills.
  24. Prepare records for emergency drills.
  25. Establish, monitor, and support Heat Index.
  26. Provide support for site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
  27. Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, such as hazard waste room inspections, spill kit inspections, first aid room checks, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science.
  • +2 years of experience in the OSH field.
  • Good communicator in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard analyses.
  • Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Experience in Worker’s Compensation case management.
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate data.
