Warehouse Supervisor

Supervision and Leadership:

• Supervise, mentor, train and evaluate the performance & productivity of packaging warehouse staff.
• Schedule shifts, assign tasks, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster positive and productive team environment.
• Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and manage staff schedules.

Receiving and Storage:

• Oversee the receiving process for incoming packaging materials, ensuring accurate verification against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality , damage and reporting any discrepancies.
• Organize and optimize storage locations for efficient retrieval and inventory management.
• Ensure proper labeling and identification of all stored materials.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe warehouse environment adhering to all safety regulations.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, utilizing JIT and FIFO strategies.

Issuing and Distribution:

• Manage the issuing of packaging materials to production based on production schedules and material requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production areas.
• Implement and enforce procedures for material requisition and issuance.
• Monitor material usage and identify potential shortages or overstock situations.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of packaging materials.

Inventory Control:

• Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP & warehouse management system (WMS) if applicable.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment orders to the Warehouse Manager.
• Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize losses and shrinkage.

Quality Control:

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures for packaging materials and conduct regular inspections.
• Inspect returned packaging materials for reuse, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Manage the disposal of damaged or unusable packaging materials.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the packaging warehouse.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Promote safety culture within the team.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the packaging warehouse.
• Implement best practices for warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Stay up to date on new technologies and trends in warehouse management.

Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels and performance metrics.
• Communicate effectively with other departments including production, procurement and quality control.
• Participate in meetings and provide input on warehouse related issues.

REQUIRMENTS

• Bachelor&aposs degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 10 years of experience in warehouse supervision with a focus on packaging operations
• Proven experience in managing packaging processes, including design, implementation, and optimization
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency
• Expertise in compliance with industry regulations and safety standards related to packaging and warehousing
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by operational needs
