As a Vitro Retinal and Phaco Product Manager, you will develop and coordinate the implementation of short, medium and long term plans through strategic planning, business plan development and marketing planning for the product line, ensure achievement of product targets through Partnership and National Managers and Distributors, profitability and growth, and plans implementation in the regions.
A typical day in this role will include:
- Identifying and analyzing customer needs as well as market segment dynamics to develop, communicate, and coordinate strategic product plans, business plans, marketing plans, and budget plan implementation in compliance with Alcon international strategies, updating according to the direction established by the operational manager. Defining, along with PMs, FCH, Saudi National Manager (NM) and Distributors, the marketing and commercial objectives and allocating them to Regions to ensure objectives achievement for sales, profitability and growth in the short, medium and long term.
- Coordinating the implementation of promotion plans for vitro retinal and phaco equipment and other product lines through NM/PMs/Distributors to ensure timely and appropriate implementation and follow-up of strategies and tactics via Distributors.
- Supporting monthly sales forecasts for respective product lines based on NM/PMs feedback as well as market knowledge in order to ensure continuous availability and achievement of inventory targets.
- Defining and proposing required investments to regions along with FCH/NM/PMs/Distributors. Responsible for managing promotion expenses and allocating them to the A&P budget according to the Distributor Marketing Plan.
- Identifying, along with NM, CMs, and Distributors, opportunities for new products/services to achieve growth targets.
- Establishing strong relationships with Distributors, opinion leaders, and key external individuals to keep product lines updated, taking into account requirements from the environment.
- Visiting the market across the ME and providing support to Alcon and Distributor teams on marketing strategy execution (Travel and Field time 30% – 40%).
- Identifying and implementing systems and methodologies to track market data (Active Equipment Installed Bases, Market Shares, tender management, market intelligence etc.).
- Conducting all required regional or local reports at required dates.
- Forecasting annual and long-term MS/IB of assigned products.
WE ARE SEEKING:
- Education/Background: Health sciences bachelor’s degree, preferably with marketing or business master’s degree as a plus.
- Experience: 8 years in Sales, commercial, marketing for medical devices with at least 2 – 3 years in Marketing experience alone, preferably in surgical ophthalmology as a plus.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer), high level of English fluency with Arabic language as a plus, marketing and strategic planning.
- Middle East knowledge and Distributor Market set-up is considered a plus.
- Willing to travel extensively 30%-40% (Middle East Regions).
