Job description

As a Utilities & Facilities Technician, you will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of a facility's physical structure and its various systems, including plumbing, water systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosing system malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulation/standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out routine maintenance of all manufacturing, filling, labeling packaging machines.
  2. Completion of planned maintenance on scheduled weekly.
  3. Complete scheduled work-orders on a weekly basis.
  4. All GSAL factory buildings civil & fabrics work.
  5. Repair/Replace all utility piping & sanitary to ensure they are maintained in proper condition, including all piping of Potable Water system, chilled water system, Steam & Condensate, Compressed air system.
  6. Repair & Replace all piping and duct work insulation related to HVAC Ducting, Potable Water system, Chilled water system, Steam & Condensate, Compressed air system.
  7. Operation and Maintenance of Fire Fighting system & Chillers.
  8. Ensure near misses are reported and escalated as appropriate.
  9. Ensure all Utilities areas and systems are maintained in a safe manner.
  10. Ensure all Utilities systems are maintained in an EHS compliant manner.
  11. Ensure acceptable level of housekeeping is maintained at all times.
  12. Ensure all quality issues are reported and escalated appropriately.
  13. Ensure all Utilities and systems are maintained in a GMP compliant manner.
  14. Ensure all documentation is completed on schedule in a GMP compliant manner.
  15. Request spare parts in CMMS before physical issuance from the engineering store.
  16. Inform supervisor of material requirements and/or shortage of materials to carry out the task.
  17. Monitor systems functions on a daily basis and record data.
Accountability:
  1. Responsible for the Operation & Maintenance of the fire fighting system in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and design specifications.
  2. Carry out monthly maintenance of all factory doors.
  3. Carry out maintenance of fire shutters of the production building, warehouse, and Cephs building.
  4. Carry out monthly routine maintenance of buildings, installation repair of gypsum board partitions and ceiling tiles.
  5. Responsible for HVAC ducting & piping insulation of potable water system, chilled water system, steam & condensate, compressed air system & support services to HVAC system.
  6. Ensure the use of CMMS systems to record all routine and incidental maintenance, review breakdown history, and update the PPM routines as a preventative measure.
  7. Carry out non-routine & breakdown maintenance as per other department requests.
  8. Ensure that all tools and test equipment are kept in a safe and calibrated state prior to use.
  9. Routine GEMBA to keep the plant and areas in a clean and orderly state at all times.
  10. Work closely with other team members as required.
  11. Comply with all site and relevant standard operating procedures.
  12. Attend and positively respond to training courses to improve work skills.
  13. Strictly adhere to Glaxo Environmental, Health and Safety instructions as per site EHS Policy and procedures to prevent accidents and deliver EHS targets.
  14. Ensure the reporting of abnormal incidents, conditions, or near misses that may result in damage to other GSK staff, property, or company reputation.
  15. Comply with all related Group Quality Policies requirements.
  16. Ensure full familiarity and implementation of all applicable GSK Corporate Governance Policies.
  17. Accountable for individually identified risks and escalate to the line manager.
  18. Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives & projects (i.e., OE, JDI, Lean Sigma, etc.) to ensure optimum systems running cost.
  19. Ensure full familiarity and implementation of all applicable Engineering Global Standards (GES) & ensure compliance.
  20. Carry out problem-solving sessions when required.
  21. Zap Reporting & Closure.
Why you:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electromechanical).
  • Diploma/associate degree in electrical or Electromechanics.
  • 3 to 5 years practical experience in electrical inspections and maintenance in an industrial environment (preferably pharmaceutical industry).
  • Good command of spoken and written English Language.
