Position summary

The TRS Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving operational conformance through supporting the implementing and adherence to Company’s Operational Excellence and Performance System. The role will generally include day to day interaction with customers and assisting the country TRS team to schedule maintenance and field personnel activities in order to meet the customer’s needs. Working closely with shared service support functions such as logistics and procurement, the position will ensure that TRS operational personnel are compliant with customer and contractual requirements and that TRS employees sent to customer locations are appropriately trained and competent in their respective jobs. Tasks will include maintaining open daily communication and enhancing customer relations, training and guiding of personnel and generally supporting efficiency improvements.

Essential functions

  1. Work with Product Line Management and Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
  2. Attend regular customer meetings in offices or rig sites.
  3. Participate in tenders and RFQ related to Tubular running services.
  4. Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the TRS in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure all TRS staff have objectives set and performance reviews completed in accordance with HR directions and timelines.
  6. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including providing career development planning and opportunities.
  7. Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
  8. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  9. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity throughout the TRS BU.
  10. Lead employees to meet the organizations expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  11. Plan and implement systems that fulfill organizational and TRS BU goals efficiently and effectively.
  12. Coordinate and plan the work of the department to ensure compliance with existing contractual obligations.
  13. Review Field Operations reports for completeness and accuracy.
  14. Ensure jobs are entered in a timely manner and that all incidents and accidents are reported promptly, investigated and closed out.
  15. Source and allocate equipment and/or personnel requirements ensuring they are fit for purpose and in accordance with customer’s requirements/instructions.
  16. Ensure that pre and post job briefs are conducted and documented with field crews.
  17. Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures.
  18. Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
  19. Review performance data that includes QHSE, financial, capital efficiency and utilization reports.
  20. Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to measure and drive the functions of the TRS BU.
  21. Support the product line tactical plan and ensure that operational and technical objectives are met.
  22. Provide technical support for both TRS Operation teams and Customers.
  23. Establish effective communication with all areas of operation within the country.
  24. Work with Asset and Inventory Management teams in assessing locally held assets and inventory.
  25. Ensure operations are compliant with Company's asset and inventory management policies and procedures.
  26. Identify excess capacity and actively source transfer opportunities.
  27. Participate in development of the product line's tactical plans across the geo market.
  28. Required to direct & support the operations on a 24 hour on-call basis.
  29. Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical & Administration.

Experience: Should have at least 10 years of work experience in Tubular running services. Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of tubular running operations, including casing running, tubing running, and completions. Possess strong customer service skills. Good interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. Proven track record in Asset and Inventory Management. Basic working of Quality Management systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills: Good computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including knowledge of Excel and Word.

Administrative Skills: Must be detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.

Working Conditions

The demands of each position may vary by region and/or function. All demands must be met in order to perform the essential functions of the job. Essential functions are routinely performed on the job and removal of these functions would fundamentally change the position.

  1. FIELD: Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, remote environments, hazardous and noisy conditions, enclosed spaces, operate motor vehicles/heavy equipment/power tools, work at heights, wear Personal Protective Equipment, frequent standing, walking, stooping or kneeling, lift/move objects up to 50 pounds.
  2. OFFICE: Frequent standing, walking, stooping or kneeling, use of repetitive wrist and hand movements at a computer, ability to work in a team environment.
