Overview

The Technology and Security Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and security of the organization's technology infrastructure. The engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and data against security breaches. Key Responsibilities

Design and implement robust security architectures for systems and applications.
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to potential threats.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation of security protocols.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into technology projects.
Manage security incidents and perform forensic analysis as needed.
Perform regular updates and patches to software and systems.
Evaluate third-party vendors for security compliance.
Educate staff on security awareness and best practices.
Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
Analyze trends in cybersecurity incidents to inform future security enhancements.
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
Report on security status and metrics to senior management.
Research and stay up to date with emerging security technologies and threats.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
Over 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure design and cybersecurity management.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM preferred.
Strong understanding of network and application security concepts.
Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Knowledge of security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).
Hands-on experience with cloud security principles and practices.
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing technologies.
Experience in incident response and investigations.
Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations.
Ability to think critically and make informed decisions during security emergencies.
