Job description

To work in a multicultural team of Multiskilled Technicians and apply specialist mechanical expertise to carry out general equipment surveys, fault investigations, defect, and solution identification.

To ensure Mechanical/HVAC equipment is in good working condition to maximize the reliability and availability of equipment and identify repairs, spare parts required.

Experience working with Chilled water systems, Compressors, AHU/FAHUs, and DX AHUs.

Experience in the installation of Pressure gauges, BTU meters, Energy meters, Manometers, Anemometers etc to measure air and water pressures, Power, BTU etc.

Experience working with MS Excel and MS Word.

Functions/Task:

Safety at Work

  • Ensures a safe working environment for himself, his colleagues and contractors while working on any equipment.
  • Ensures that there is a Permit to Work for each job as necessitated by the safety rules and associated Procedures.
  • Ensures all Method Statements Work Instruction and Procedures are followed by himself and Contractors while undertaking any work.
  • Ensures that all appropriate tools are available to ensure work can be carried out safely on equipment on all jobs at the plant.
  • Points out any unsafe conditions to the Energy Engineer or Team Leader.

Equipment Failure Trouble Shooting and Repair

  • Supports the 24-hour operation by being regularly available for call-out at short notice.
  • Records and reports to the Lead Engineer all survey details.

Reporting and Planning

  • Creates equipment condition assessment reports based on surveys conducted.
  • Manage Measurement equipment and measurement timelines as dictated by lead engineer.

Use of Tools and Equipment

  • Ensures appropriate tools and equipment are available at work sites and used while performing any job.
  • Ensures that tools are in a safe and in good working order before use.
  • Reports loss of tools or damage to any tools to the lead Engineer.
  • Informs the Mechanical Engineer of any requirements for tools.

Accountable for Outcomes:

  • Continuous on-the-job application of HSE Procedures.
  • Frequency of safety incidents and near misses.
  • Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).
  • No EHS Compliance breaches.
  • Work completion on time.
  • Completion of reports/record sheets.
  • Work quality to high standard.
  • Efficiency at work.
  • 24-hour accessibility.
  • Quality of records and reports.
  • Accuracy of planning.
