Purpose of the role:
The Technical Writer Bid plays a crucial role in supporting the business development efforts of the company by crafting persuasive and technically accurate proposals and documentation for various projects and opportunities. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional writing skills to communicate complex ideas effectively, ultimately contributing to the organization's success in securing new business and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical information and insights necessary for proposal development.
- Write and edit comprehensive and compelling proposals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client requirements and objectives.
- Translate technical concepts and solutions into easily understandable language for diverse audiences, including clients and stakeholders.
- Develop templates, boilerplate language, and reusable content to streamline the proposal creation process and maintain consistency across submissions.
- Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of proposals to ensure quality, coherence, and compliance with proposal guidelines and standards.
Task Management:
- Create technical documentation, such as specifications, user manuals, and technical reports, to support project bids and ongoing operations.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to gather and verify technical information and specifications for inclusion in documentation.
- Organize and present technical information in a clear, structured, and user-friendly manner, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain version control and documentation repositories to ensure access to accurate and up-to-date information for proposal development and project execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for improving documentation processes, formats, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Project Management:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to the company's business areas and target markets.
- Research and gather information from various sources to enhance the technical accuracy and credibility of proposals and documentation.
- Document lessons learned and feedback from proposal submissions to inform continuous improvement efforts and enhance future bid strategies and processes.
- Share knowledge and expertise with team members to build collective capabilities and foster a culture of learning and innovation within the organization.
Qualification / Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Technical Communication.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience; Proficiency in Arabic language speaking & writing.
Industry: Facilities Management, Projects, Technical Consulting, Real Estate Management, Community Management, Construction.
Previous Roles: Bids Executive, Business Development Executive, Estimations Executive.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Proficiency in estimating project costs accurately, considering all relevant factors.
- Familiarity with project management concepts, including scope, scheduling, and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and processes for accurate estimations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess project requirements and identify cost factors.
- Effective communication skills to convey estimation details to clients and project teams.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into clear, concise language.
- Proficiency in document formatting, style guides, and publishing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, effectively managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
