Job description

The role of the Technical Team Leader is to support the Technical Management with the responsibility to ensure all technical requirements for all typologies of Attraction rides and devices within the complex are supervised and fulfilled.

This role will involve active participation during ride and device installation onsite, working alongside contractors & manufacturers, aiming to implement SEVEN's maintenance requirements, processes & technical pre & post opening requirements, ensuring operational readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Managerial & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Playing an active and strong leader role within the technical team in fulfilling requirements.
  • Active collaboration with park operation & project attraction team upon complex opening.
  • Close communication with ride manufacturer & service provider engaged with SEVEN portfolios.
  • Work to best international safety practices and local authorities regulations in KSA.
  • Leading by example in demonstrating best techniques and practices during execution of the tasks.

Core Responsibilities

Works closely with SEVEN's Operation & HSEQ team in day-to-day park operation.

Ensuring compliance with maintenance requirements, aligned with the business operation plan, of each typology within the complex, including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for reviewing all technical documents, including those defined by the manufacturer and designed by SEVEN Technical department, including but not limited to: SOP's, technical manuals, troubleshooting guidance, evacuation procedures, PM checklists, Rehab, NDT schedules etc., for completeness and correct content to perform operational needs.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Asset management software and checking of uploaded information & giving system feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Support in reviewing departmental spare part/consumable requirements and strategy and support the Technical Manager to ensure stock availability in line with budgetary requirements.
  • Support to achieve department and company objectives, action plans and key performance indicators to support company balanced scorecard approach in achieving the executive strategic plan.
  • Support the evaluation of local and international market opportunities, such as evaluating potential new contractors, specialist supply and service provider companies, official/certified branded spare parts distributors and trading companies etc., aligned with Technical, Operational & Procurement requirements.
  • Capable of fulfilling responsibilities of the Assistant Technical Manager during absences.
  • Assist in the implementation & compliance of the maintenance strategy, including but not limited to:
  • Responsible for executing Attraction Ride and Devices Corrective Maintenance and recording results on a day-to-day basis in compliance with industry standards & manufacturer instructions, reporting findings to Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
  • Responsible for executing Attraction Ride and Devices Planned Maintenance and recording results as per schedule on a day-to-day basis in compliance with industry standards & manufacturer instructions, reporting findings to Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
  • Responsible for attending ride and device stoppages as reported by Technical Manager/Assistant Technical Manager, communicating with Operational staff to gather information and rectify issues in a timely and safe manner, recording all corrective maintenance performed and reporting findings to Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
  • Responsible for verifying the accuracy and quality of work of technicians, paying particular attention to safety critical inspections and repairs.
  • Assist with ensuring Attraction Ride and Device daily operational readiness and annual reliability as per company target.
  • Support with ensuring the availability of required resources to perform all maintenance tasks such as manpower, materials, and external services.
  • Support with day-to-day operation of Asset management software including issuing and reviewing planned and corrective work orders.
  • Identifying any potential areas of improvement or concerns with rides or devices operation and maintenance, such as modification proposals or efficiency improvement related work tasks etc., and reporting findings to Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
  • Assisting to achieve Annual certification/recertification of the attraction's rides and devices by the IB.
  • Responsible for providing departmental involvement during evacuation procedures as necessary and reporting any feedback to the Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining a register of all tools and equipment as per SEVEN tools and equipment management policy, including quarantining and reporting findings for any out of calibration or damaged equipment.
  • Following the Learning and Development training strategy to ensure competency of technical team members, including delivering training and maintaining training documents and records.
  • Responsible for following all QHSE policies and procedures as per company policies and strategy.
  • Responsible for providing and managing the team's optimal use of consumables with minimum wastage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • NEBOSH advantageous but not necessary
  • Written and Spoken English

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in the leisure and attraction industry (preferably in theme park industry)

Training

  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • ISO certification advantageous but not necessary

  • IPAF (mobile elevated working platform license) advantageous but not necessary
  • PASMA (mobile scaffold erection license) advantageous but not necessary

Nature of Experience

  • Familiar with the ride EN13814 and/or ASTM F24 standards, to include roller coasters, carousels, dark rides, wind tunnel, climbing wall, karting, and playgrounds.
  • Familiar with SASO Technical regulations for Amusement Parks Games & Devices, advantageous but not necessary.
  • Technical experience within the leisure and attraction industry, including NDT procedures, lubrication, use of technical documents and schematics, and torquing.
  • Proven track record in day-to-day maintenance of Theme Park/FEC rides and devices &/or Water Park equipment along with supporting the certification/recertification process.
  • Detailed knowledge of roller coasters (Rehab, certification, evacuation, LOTO).
  • Thrill rides, family rides, kiddie rides, wind tunnel, climbing walls, E karting/Karting.
