Job Description

Strategic Contribution

• Ensure effective cascading of the Engineering strategy into operating plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.

People Management

• Manage the effective achievement of Engineering objectives through the leadership of the Engineering department by setting individual objectives, managing performance, and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance.
• Lead the talent development initiatives for Engineering, collaborating with technical/discipline experts to ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
• Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of Engineering to foster a value-driven culture within the organization.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

• Monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

Technical Engineering Management

• Formulate and champion the successful implementation of a technical engineering roadmap and initiatives, aligned with the organization's overall business goals and objectives.
• Create a clear and actionable plan for all technical aspects of engineering projects and advocate for its execution across the Engineering function.
• Provide technical engineering expertise to project managers and stakeholders, assisting them with the successful development of detailed engineering plans.
• Lead the preparation, scheduling, and monitoring of all assigned technical engineering projects to ensure effective project management.
• Oversee the progress and completion of the technical engineering designs for projects to maintain their integrity and quality standards.
• Review technical engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, quality, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to the engineering team by reviewing designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure that all technical engineering deliverables meet the required quality standards by implementing quality control measures.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure that agreed standards and technical engineering strategies are implemented.
• Stay abreast of industry-emerging engineering technologies and methodologies to continuously improve engineering processes.

Project Management

• Participate in the successful management of engineering projects, from initiation to completion phase.
• Provide expertise to the project management process from a technical engineering perspective.
• Lead the identification of potential technical risks and challenges across engineering projects.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with clients to understand their technical requirements and address concerns.
• Coordinate with relevant cross-functional teams to ensure technical engineering activities align with project specifications.
• Manage and ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures, and controls covering all areas of Engineering activity.
• Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Management

• Manage the effective implementation of corporate policies, procedures, and processes to promote a culture focusing on the achievement of world-class standards in QHSE.

Reporting

• Ensure that all Engineering reports are prepared timely and accurately.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education/Certification

• Bachelors in Engineering, Architecture, or any other related field.

Experience

• 8 years’ related experience with 3 years’ experience with growing managerial accountability in similar positions.

• Project Management, Quality Assurance Management, Risk Management, Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment, Cost Control & Budgeting, Regulatory Compliance Knowledge.
