Job Title: Technical Engineer (Civil Engineering Background)

Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager

Job Description:

The Technical Engineer will play a crucial role in the execution and successful delivery of infrastructure, earthwork, and construction projects within the NEOM region. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the candidate will provide technical expertise in civil engineering, project coordination, and compliance with local and international construction standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Support and Design:
   • Provide technical guidance and solutions related to civil engineering aspects for infrastructure, earthwork, and utilities in NEOM projects.
   • Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
   • Ensure the technical accuracy of engineering designs, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
   • Assist in preparing and reviewing design calculations, reports, and specifications for project compliance.
2. Project Coordination:
   • Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between design and construction.
   • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party consultants to ensure timely project execution.
   • Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure that project deadlines are met.
   • Support the Project Manager in monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
3. Site Supervision:
   • Monitor on-site civil engineering activities to ensure they comply with technical designs, safety standards, and construction regulations.
   • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance for on-site issues related to civil engineering work.
   • Perform regular site inspections to ensure quality control, material testing, and adherence to safety procedures.
4. Compliance and Documentation:
   • Ensure that all civil engineering work complies with NEOM’s regulations, local Saudi standards, and international construction codes.
   • Maintain accurate documentation of engineering drawings, project specifications, change orders, and technical reports.
   • Assist in the preparation of project submittals, technical documentation, and handover packages.
5. Cost Management:
   • Assist in evaluating project budgets, preparing cost estimates, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
   • Support the procurement process by providing technical specifications and evaluating supplier proposals for civil engineering materials.
6. Sustainability and Innovation:
   • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in civil engineering technologies, with a focus on sustainable and smart construction practices.
   • Promote the adoption of innovative solutions that align with NEOM’s vision of sustainable development and advanced infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or earthwork or construction projects.
• Familiarity with construction processes, engineering design principles, and project management in the Middle East.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other civil engineering software tools.
• Knowledge of local Saudi construction standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
• PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on mega-projects, especially in the NEOM, Red Sea, or other Vision 2030 initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).

Pay: ﷼6,000.00 - ﷼8,000.00 per month
