Downe House Riyadh opened in September 2022. It is the first premium British private all-girls school (Boys Pre-School to Year 4) for 3-18-year-olds to be established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Downe House Riyadh is located towards the north of Riyadh in the prominent neighbourhood of Aqeeq. The school’s curriculum is sensitively adapted for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ensuring our girls excel in Arabic language and Islamic Studies, alongside other subjects. The Position

Teacher of Design Technology with Arts

Downe House Riyadh is seeking an experienced and passionate Design Technology Teacher to join our vibrant and growing school. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative educator to establish and develop a brand-new Design Technology department, introducing foundational skills and shaping the curriculum with the vision of offering GCSE Design Technology.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience teaching Design Technology at GCSE level and be willing to teach Art to younger year groups. At Downe House Riyadh, subject-specific lessons begin from Year 5, and we are looking for a teacher who can inspire creativity and curiosity in students of all ages.

The Person

The successful candidate will be someone who:

• Has experience teaching Design Technology at GCSE level.
• Is willing to teach Art at Key Stage 3.
• Can establish and develop a new Design Technology department, introducing foundational skills and building towards a full GCSE offering in the coming years.
• Is confident in teaching younger year groups and fostering a passion for creativity and innovation.
• Will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an engaging and challenging curriculum.
• Holds a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
• Has proven experience teaching Design Technology at GCSE level.
• Demonstrates the ability to build a new department and develop a curriculum from the ground up.
• Be an inspiring and adaptable teacher with strong subject knowledge.
• Have experience or a willingness to teach Art at Key Stage 3.
• Be committed to providing a high-quality teaching and learning experience.
• Have a positive and proactive attitude with a passion for education and student success.
• Be willing to embrace international school life and contribute to the development of Downe House Riyadh.
