Job description

The British International School of Jeddah (BISJ) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Swimming Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead child-centred swimming lessons in a safe environment, supporting students in developing essential swimming skills and water confidence. Additionally, the role involves organising and participating in school swim meets and competitions, as well as leading an extracurricular club in alignment with the school's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver engaging, child-centred Learn-to-Swim lessons tailored to various age groups, ensuring safety at all times.
  2. Regularly report on student progress and skill development to parents and guardians.
  3. Support the Head of Swimming in developing and enhancing the school's swim curriculum.
  4. Assist in organising and officiating school swim meets, swim galas, and other year-group or school-wide pool activities.
  5. Collaborate with the Stingrays Swim Club program to provide additional swimming opportunities.
  6. Lead an extracurricular club, ensuring all health, safety, and safeguarding standards are upheld.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. Certification as a Swimming Teacher or equivalent qualification.
  3. Experience teaching swimming to children of various ages.
  4. Strong knowledge of swimming safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
  6. Commitment to personal development and active participation in school and community activities.
