Role Description: The Supply Chain Supervisor at FutureLab Medical Laboratory is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain processes within the laboratory environment. This role involves managing procurement, inventory, vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials necessary for laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical laboratories or hospitals, contributing to improved operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
Supply Chain Management: Oversee procurement processes, including vendor negotiations, inventory management, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. Develop strategies to streamline supply chain operations and reduce costs. Monitor supply chain performance metrics and implement improvements as needed. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services. Negotiate contracts and manage agreements to support business operations.
Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Implement inventory management systems and practices to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities comply with relevant regulatory standards and policies, including those specific to medical laboratories. Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and adjust processes accordingly.
Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Work with internal departments to forecast supply needs and manage logistics accordingly.
Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory, procurement, and vendor performance. Prepare detailed reports on supply chain activities for review by the Operations Manager. Supervise and train supply chain staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies. Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Certifications in supply chain management or related areas are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within a medical laboratory or hospital setting.
Certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CSCP, CPIM, CIPS, CPSM, CLTD, SCOR-P are preferred. Additional certifications in specialized areas of laboratory science are advantageous.
Knowledge:
Medical Laboratory Operations: Understanding of the specific requirements and challenges of supply chain management in a medical laboratory or hospital setting.
Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards, including those related to procurement and supply chain management.
Technology: Knowledge of supply chain management software and systems, as well as proficiency in using digital tools for data management and reporting.
Market Trends: Awareness of current trends in supply chain management, including sustainability practices and cost-saving strategies.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting related to supply chain activities.
