Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with over 10 years of expertise in the oil, gas, and construction industries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, analyzing, and supervising the construction of structures used in large-scale projects, particularly in the oil and gas sector. The position is based in Saudi Arabia, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and safety of structures within challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage structural design and analysis for oil, gas, and construction projects, ensuring compliance with local and international design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode, ASCE, API, etc.).
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for the design of buildings, platforms, pipelines, foundations, and other critical infrastructure.
• Conduct structural analysis and stress analysis for a variety of structures, ensuring they meet safety and performance requirements under operational loads, environmental conditions, and seismic activity.
• Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the structural designs integrate seamlessly with other engineering disciplines.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical specifications, and material selection for structural components.
• Oversee the preparation of structural design packages, including design reports, drawings, and calculations, for submission to clients and regulatory authorities.
• Supervise the construction of structural elements on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Perform site inspections to ensure construction work is proceeding as per the approved plans, providing corrective actions as needed to address any issues or discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain structural engineering schedules and ensure that milestones and deadlines are met during design and construction phases.
• Conduct risk assessments and perform safety evaluations, recommending necessary changes to mitigate any potential hazards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, helping to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Monitor and review structural testing and inspections to ensure all structural systems and materials meet required quality and safety standards.
• Ensure that all engineering work complies with local regulations, international safety standards, and client-specific requirements.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for structural aspects of projects.
• Manage project documentation, including change orders, approvals, reports, and permits, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
• Participate in project meetings, ensuring effective communication with clients, contractors, and other engineering teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the oil, gas, and construction industries.
• Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, or similar).
• In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode, API, ASCE, BS, etc.).
• Experience in designing and analyzing a wide variety of structures, including buildings, steel and concrete platforms, and foundations.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, structural materials (e.g., concrete, steel, composites), and construction methodologies.
• Experience in seismic design, wind load analysis, and other advanced structural engineering topics.
• Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to perform complex calculations, prepare technical reports, and present findings clearly and concisely.
• Knowledge of local Saudi Arabian regulations and codes is highly desirable.
• Experience with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer, or similar).
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
