The MEP QC Inspector is responsible for overseeing the quality control and assurance processes for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a construction project. They ensure that all MEP installations, materials, and workmanship meet the project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and the client's quality requirements.
Key Accountability Areas
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents to understand the MEP design and quality requirements.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control plan for the MEP systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of MEP installations at various stages of construction to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and standards, including:
- MEP excavation inspection
- MEP under blinding main lines
- MEP inside the raft
- MEP embedded in precast panels
- Monitor the backfilling around MEP under the blinding.
- Monitor the MEP during concrete pouring/casting.
- Document all quality control activities, including inspections, test results, and any identified deficiencies or nonconformances.
- Follow up on MEP Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure proper resolution.
- Attend all the MEP-related tests and witness the testing process.
- Collaborate with the project team, including the general contractor, subcontractors, and design professionals, to address and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain detailed records and provide regular quality control reports to the project management team.
- Assist in the development of corrective and preventive actions to address recurring quality problems.
- Ensure that all MEP work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
