Sr Commercial and Contracts Director

About the Role:
The Senior Commercial & Contracts Director plays a crucial role in guiding the company’s commercial and contractual activities toward achieving profitability and strategic goals. This position involves overseeing key negotiations, managing contracts, and mitigating risks while ensuring compliance with legal and business standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
2. Contract Management: Oversee contract preparation, negotiation, and execution, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.
3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
4. Financial Oversight: Monitor project costs and budgets, approve variations, and ensure financial efficiency.
5. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the commercial and contracts team, fostering collaboration across departments.
6. Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams; represent the company in negotiations.
7. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to contracts, policies, and laws, and prepare reports for senior management.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Business Administration, or Law.
2. Master’s degree in Business Administration or Construction Law preferred.
3. 15+ years of experience in commercial and contract management, including 8-10 years in senior leadership.
4. Expertise in managing large-scale, high-end fit out and construction projects, claims management, and contract negotiation.
5. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
6. Financial acumen with proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and project management platforms.
