Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join Rosemary Kitchen, a concept dedicated to wellness-focused cuisine. The Sous Chef will play a key role in supporting the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation, all in alignment with Miraval's culinary philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Cuisine in menu development, ensuring a balance of nutrition, wellness, and culinary creativity.
- Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, portion control, and waste management.
- Source and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure the use of fresh, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards and food safety protocols.
- Stay updated on wellness and plant-based cuisine trends, bringing innovation and creativity to the menu.
- Foster a collaborative and positive kitchen culture, ensuring an efficient and motivated team.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role.
- Strong understanding of healthy, plant-based, and wellness-focused cuisine.
- Experience in an international, high-end culinary environment, preferably in luxury resorts or wellness retreats.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, with HACCP certification being an advantage.
- Passion for holistic wellness, sustainability, and mindful eating.
- Exceptional leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
