Job Purpose: Responsible for assisting the Lead Solution Architect in the introduction of new technology into its customers.
Accountabilities:
The jobholder will be expected to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the Lead Solutions Architect, agreeing direction and priorities for future developments.
To work closely with the project teams to ensure that the architecture, design, implementation and end results meet the business and customer requirements.
The jobholder will assist the team in the creation of technical Statements of Work that will enable the project teams to define accurate implementation timescales for all projects.
The jobholder will be proactive in identifying problem areas as well as opportunities, and making recommendations to the Lead Solutions Architect.
To develop and maintain working relationships with customers and colleagues.
To constantly investigate and evaluate the business potential of emerging technologies and products.
The jobholder will be creative in researching, to understand issues and find innovative answers quickly.
Help the Lead Solutions Architect develop an architectural model to present to all existing and new customers.
The jobholder will be expected to maintain a good level of knowledge of the applications and technology used within the business environment.
The jobholder will be expected to assist in the formulation of questions used in business conversations to elicit facts or statements from customers.
OUTLINE QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
Educated to degree level standard in a relevant discipline with excellent knowledge of hardware and software across a variety of platforms.
The jobholder should have proven supervisory and motivational skills within a technical and business support environment.
The jobholder will be aware of general business processes and practices.
The jobholder should have a minimum of seven years experience in an IT Support environment.
The jobholder will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
The jobholder should have excellent analytical and technical design skills.
The jobholder will have a minimum of two years experience within a project management environment.
The jobholder will have a good understanding of network architecture.
The jobholder will have excellent knowledge of client/server systems.
The jobholder will be able to translate business needs into technical architecture requirements.
The jobholder will have experience in implementing architecture design solutions within a complex infrastructure.
The jobholder will be expected to hold, and maintain, valid industry certifications at an intermediate to advanced level. (At a minimum these should be equivalent to Microsoft MCSE, MCSD. Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCDP. Novell CNE, MCNE.)
