The Purpose of the Role

The Software Engineer is responsible for assisting the Delivery manager/Service Leader on the delivery of integrated software solutions that have a complex technical design requirement. They are responsible for coordinating the input of various key internal and external stakeholders and must have good communication skills. Duties include:

1. Network infrastructure design, installation, and commissioning support.
2. 3rd party product integration with Software / EBI, including EBI support and troubleshooting.
3. Completing basic log file analysis and EBI Custom Application Programming (i.e., Interface with Peoplesoft, SAP, CHOM, Identity management).
4. Engineering Web Services, API, BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC, and other protocols.
5. Engineering server and redundancy solutions.
6. Coordinating and leading large system staging and FAT acceptance processes.
7. Providing technical support and training to service engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform new software deployment and periodic software upgrades (Major or Minor), functional testing, and commissioning of the software deliverables.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of high-end integrated BMS, Fire, mechanical, and Security applications.
• Assess customer sites for software installation requirements and installation design.
• Develop software, perform ‘bench testing’ if required, and deliver commissioning package to the field. Assist delivery in startup as required.
• Complete complex and integrated system design, implementation, and documentation.
• Use Quality Assurance procedures to ensure defect-free hardware and software delivery to the field team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering.
• Advanced Network/PC certification (Desirable).
• Tridium Niagara Certification, CCNA.
• Previous experience working with highly complex technical solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of networking, database technology, integration protocols, and current trends in the industry.
• 5+ years working in a service environment, with extensive on-site knowledge/ability to manage software deployment.
• Willingness to develop extensive product knowledge in formal training and in “on the job” environments, working with the latest Honeywell technology.
• Customer survey VOC metrics.
• Provide complex system support and application training.
