Brief Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shop Technician performs various shop functions to support the manufacturing of drill bits. This role involves hands-on tasks that ensure production runs smoothly, equipment remains in good working condition, and the work environment is safe and clean.

The Shop Technician I works under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor.

Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Detailed Description:

1. Perform sandblasting and grinding operations on drill bits and components.
2. Wash and clean bits, cutters, and cans to prepare them for subsequent manufacturing steps.
3. Paint drill bits and related components as required, adhering to quality standards.
4. Prepare bits, cutters, and brazing materials for the brazing process, ensuring all components meet production specifications.
5. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by sweeping, removing debris, and following company cleanliness standards.
6. Operate grinders, sandblasters, hoists, and other typical shop tools and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies.
7. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
8. Follow instructions provided by bit documentation and management, completing tasks and procedures accurately and on time.
9. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and address any issues promptly.
10. Perform other shop duties as required or assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

1. Ability to operate standard shop equipment, including grinders, sandblasters, and hoists.
2. Good physical ability to bend, stoop, sit, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.
3. Finger dexterity and visual acuity to handle precision work.
4. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
5. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
6. Willingness and availability to work overtime as needed.

Shop Technician I
Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 0-2 years of experience working in manufacturing or construction.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience with shop tools and manufacturing equipment.
2. Experience in an oil field environment.

Shop Technician II
Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 2-4 years of experience working in manufacturing, construction, or a related field.
3. Basic proficiency with shop tools and manufacturing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience operating advanced shop tools and specialized manufacturing equipment.
2. Familiarity with quality control processes and maintenance procedures.
3. Experience in an oil field or similar industrial environment.
4. Basic knowledge of safety standards and regulations in manufacturing or construction.

Shop Technician III
Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or a related technical field.
3. Advanced proficiency with shop tools, manufacturing equipment, and maintenance procedures.
4. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a shop environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Leadership experience or the ability to supervise junior technicians.
2. Extensive experience in an oil field or heavy industrial environment.
3. In-depth understanding of safety protocols, industry regulations, and quality assurance standards.
4. Certification or formal training in a related technical field (e.g., welding, machining, or equipment repair).

Additional Details:
The Shop Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
