WHAT TO EXPECT


As a Service Technician, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals who are willing to learn and grow along with our Local teams in Dammam KSA. Located in our Dammam, KSA office, you will be reporting into the Workshop Supervisor.
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical operations required for the daily functioning of the Branch, including assembling, servicing, and testing of Hydraulic Cylinders, hoses, and fittings, interacting with customers, completing associated paperwork, handling cash, making purchases and sales, and inventory management as per branch requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for carrying out repairs and service jobs of very high order in workshop, vessels, drilling rigs, and customer job locations under the guidance of the Supervisor/Operation lead/Managers/Senior hands. To carry out overhauling and testing of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU, Actuators, and other hydraulic and pneumatic components. Carry out vessel cranes, steering gear system, mooring winch system refurbishments, testing, and repairs at shipyards/onshore and offshore. Carry out and monitor inspection/test of hydraulic components/systems.

ABOUT YOU

Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and documents. Knowledge in Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU, and other hydraulic and pneumatic components. Should have five years of experience in a field service job. Ability to carry out hydraulic components troubleshooting. Ability to choose correct hose, fitting, and belt options based on information given by the customer. Ability to work well in a team environment. Willing to stay in Company Camp Accommodation inside Jebel Ali. ITI Vocational, Diploma, or High School or equivalent. In addition to your normal working hours, you might be required to work overtime as and when required by the business/workload. Work hard and go the extra mile.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to visit field sites; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee is required to carry out the additional overtime hours till job completion as per line manager and customer/shipyard requirement.

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for carrying out repairs and service jobs of very high order in workshop, vessels, drilling rigs, and customer job locations under the guidance of the Supervisor/Operation lead/Managers/Senior hands.
  2. To carry out overhauling and testing of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, cylinders, control valves, HPU, Actuators, and other hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  3. Carry out vessel cranes, steering gear system, mooring winch system refurbishments, testing, and repairs at shipyards/onshore and offshore.
  4. Carry out preventive maintenance practices on plant equipment/machinery according to the plan/schedule.
  5. Follow necessary work instructions, operating procedures, best practices, method statements, and use proper tools and equipment for carrying out the jobs.
  6. Supervise and support mechanics, Assistant technicians, and others involved in the jobs.
  7. Ensure all testing and monitoring equipment/instruments are identified and maintained in good order at all times.
  8. Report all incidents/accidents/near misses to the supervisors/safety personnel.
  9. Preparation of condition reports, test reports, and job completion reports.
  10. Assemble hose and fittings as per customer or branch requirements and hose renewal at site, vessels, and rigs.
  11. Ensure that all products are serviceable (e.g., pressure test hoses) before use and that all items for sale are assembled in accordance with accepted procedures.
  12. Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed, such as Test Reports, Condition reports, Work order, Pressure Test certificate including printing, labeling, Job completion, etc. and filed.
  13. Operate as the first line contact/salesperson for customers, interacting in a businesslike manner with them in person and on the phone.
  14. Pressure test hose assemblies in accordance with accepted procedures.
  15. Ensure best and safe work practices of the quality management system are followed at all times.
  16. Maintain the workshop, plant equipment, and accessories in good order & maintenance of housekeeping at all job locations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functions as an individual contributor with some supervisory responsibilities.
