Primary Duties:

• The Senior Telecoms Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation & commissioning, Administration and management of the telephony and telephony-related infrastructure.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize robust, scalable, highly automated, and secure technical solutions in support of Wachovia's Network Security Infrastructure and Network Admission Control (NAC) systems.
• Work as a member of a geographically diverse team of experts to manage and support large-scale network security solutions utilizing numerous technologies across a global enterprise environment.
• Analyse and assess distributed network security management systems and identify gaps leading to potential improvements.
• Create scripts, employ tools, develop automation techniques, and pursue ideas to increase the manageability, efficiency, capability, capacity, and security of network security devices.
• Design efficient, repeatable, and measurable human processes for employing network security technologies and distributed management systems.
• Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, firewalls, IDS, Wireless network security, and Network Admission Control (NAC).
• Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-organizational project teams to give advice to customers and peer groups on technology solutions.
• Create comprehensive engineering documentation including design requirements, network diagrams, workflow diagrams, application communications diagrams, configuration documents, support documentation, training materials, and project documents.
• Serve as a mentor for other engineers, teaching while doing, and provide opportunities to cross-train peers in parallel with task and project completion.
• Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company's Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Take reasonable care of one's own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirement.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer science with minimum of 5+ years experience
• Strong knowledge and experience in the use of advanced information security solutions, including security software, scripts, configurations, network infrastructure and design, intrusion detection, TCP/IP protocols, and application security features.
• Strong knowledge in the development of secure network architectures and standards.
• Advanced Solaris/UNIX/Linux background with proven scripting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP routing, AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, authentication systems, Wireless LAN, proxy technology, and network appliances.
• Advanced network security background including familiarity with products from leading vendors in the enterprise security market.
