Job description

We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer & Business Analyst with 8+ Years of experience. This is a dual-role position that combines expertise in technical writing with analytical skills to gather, document, and communicate business and technical requirements effectively. This professional will play a key role in transforming complex technical concepts and business processes into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. They will also serve as a liaison between stakeholders, translating business needs into functional specifications and solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Documentation Creation & Maintenance:
    Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation such as user manuals, technical specifications, API documentation, system designs, and release notes.
  2. Write clear, concise, and accurate content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  3. Ensure documentation is consistent with company standards, style guides, and best practices.
  4. Content Management:
    Organize and manage document repositories, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to update content based on product releases, updates, and new features.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure technical details are accurately reflected.
  7. Translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable documentation for internal and external users.
  8. Quality Assurance:
    Conduct reviews of documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
  9. Participate in technical review sessions to verify correctness of documentation and technical content.
Business Analysis Responsibilities
  1. Requirements Gathering:
    Collaborate with business stakeholders, including clients, product owners, and users, to gather and analyze business requirements.
  2. Elicit functional and non-functional requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis.
  3. Process Analysis & Optimization:
    Analyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement or automation.
  4. Recommend solutions to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  5. Technical Specifications & Documentation:
    Develop business and technical requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories, and use cases.
  6. Translate business needs into technical specifications for developers and engineers to implement.
  7. Solution Design & Implementation Support:
    Work with the project management and development teams to ensure business requirements are met during the design, development, and implementation phases.
  8. Assist in validating the solution by participating in testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and change management activities.
  9. Stakeholder Communication:
    Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  10. Provide regular updates and reports to business leaders on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  1. Experience:
    8+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, Business Analyst, or a combination of both roles.
  2. Proven experience in technical documentation, business requirements analysis, and system implementation.
  3. Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
  4. Technical Skills:
    Strong proficiency in technical writing tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, or Microsoft Word.
  5. Familiarity with business analysis tools like Jira, Balsamiq, Visio, or similar.
  6. Understanding of software development processes, including Agile/Scrum practices.
  7. Basic understanding of database structures, API documentation, and system architecture.
  8. Communication:
    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into clear, concise documentation.
  9. Strong ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  10. Analytical Skills:
    Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  11. Ability to identify business needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  12. Experience in process mapping, creating workflow diagrams, and requirements analysis.
  13. Educational Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with cloud platforms, enterprise systems, or SaaS products.
  2. Knowledge of UML (Unified Modeling Language) or BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).
  3. Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Technical Writing (e.g., TWC).
Work Environment
  1. This role may be performed in an office setting, remotely, or in a hybrid work environment.
  2. May require occasional travel to meet with business stakeholders or attend industry events.
