Senior Surveyor

The Senior Surveyor performs surveying works for activities of properties and sites in order to provide information for building construction, alterations, valuations, land use, and map making.

Job Responsibilities

1. Analyze, measure, and inspect properties and sites to establish property boundaries.
2. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
3. Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas.
4. Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land.
5. Ensure daily submission of surveying report detailing the measurements and location of property boundaries with at least 95% accuracy utilizing the Company-approved format.
6. Analyze survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.
7. Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in performing surveys or drafting maps.
8. Ensure compliance with the Company’s safety procedure and implement the same to subordinates in all work periods.
9. Achieve zero loss time incidents (LTIs) for land surveying activities throughout the duration of the project.
10. Submit daily updates of sketches and maps detailing the work done for the day.
11. Determine longitudes and latitudes using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
12. Record results of surveys for quantities calculation, cost estimation, and invoice preparation.
13. Submit a weekly and monthly summary report.
14. Provide accurate AutoCAD files of the spatial aspect of the projects.

Job Knowledge & Skills

1. Knowledge of mathematics, survey computer programs, and survey computations.
2. Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying.
3. Proficient understanding of land surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and surveying standards.
7. Effective communication skills.
8. ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, with 3 years relevant working experience, and 2 years in the GCC being a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
