Senior Specialist, IT Infrastructure

• Oversee, with IT Infrastructure Manager, the interpretation of capacity needs of IT Infrastructure (related to DR, Data Center, Backup, IT Infrastructure Hardware, Software, Systems, Databases’ Servers and IT Security) through a thorough planning, installation, setup, support and documentation of IT and network systems.
• Ensure that all IT infrastructure activities (related to DR, Data Center, Backup, IT Infrastructure Hardware, Software, Systems, Databases’ Servers, and IT Security) are implemented as per the set policies and procedures taking into considerations best practices and manage the infrastructure activities to ensure that infrastructure provision and support is robust and comprehensive at SCISP.
• Ensure that the overall IT infrastructure is updated and maintained in line with the organizational needs and best practice, which includes conducting upgrades and maintenance for software, servers, DR, Data Center, Backup, IT Infrastructure Hardware, Software, Systems, Databases’ Servers, and IT Security, Network components and all infrastructure component inventory.
• Plan, acquire and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization.
• Establish and maintain beneficial relationships with IT vendors and contractors, working with the procurement department to identify and select the appropriate vendor / contractor, and monitor and report on delivery against contract.
• Contribute to and manage projects related to infrastructure activities and ensure its alignment and integration with set requirements and standards.
• Monitor performance, troubleshooting and resolve section related IT Infrastructure components.
• Assist in identifying and managing risks associated with the use of IT systems, preserve SCISP assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and ensure a constant compliance with cybersecurity requirements and policies.
• Support with backup and recovery and identify, evaluate and correct hardware, software and operational problems while maintaining all service logs.
• Implement and monitor programs that are designed to reduce section related IT Infrastructure components downtime. This includes planning of preventative maintenance procedures.
• Review annual spend and assess return on investment and areas for improvement in relation to IT infrastructure.
• Remain abreast of external developments related IT Infrastructure components and processes across SCISP, identifying requirements for implementing and upgrading IT Infrastructure components. This includes, selecting areas for investment, proposing projects, supporting other teams in their preparation of business cases or cost / benefit analysis and identifying external vendors etc.
• Work closely with the various departments within SCISP to ensure appropriate support and collaboration exist to achieve the organizational objectives while constantly identifying and managing IT associated risks.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology preferably in a:
• Diverse/multi-cultural business industry.
• Multi-national companies.
• Experience in a strategic development, global business development or similar type role.

Skills

• Understanding of IT infrastructure (Databases, Systems and Networks).
• Understanding of IT infrastructure latest trends, tools and techniques.
• Understanding of IT Security.
• Deep understanding of IT project delivery methods, tools and techniques.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
