Senior Specialist, Business Resilience
As a Senior Specialist in Business Resilience, the main responsibilities include overseeing business continuity and crisis management tasks, ensuring that all relevant models and controls are operating effectively. Along with that, you would play a crucial role in developing risk models and models for business continuity and crisis management, considering all the relevant risk areas for business. The role requires excellent quantitative and analytical skills, which can be applied to a variety of business processes. Additionally, the job holder would be required to conduct research and analytical analysis while providing support to the bank's leadership team and relevant stakeholders on matters related to business continuity, and crisis management roles and responsibilities. Ultimately, the job holder's work would contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable business for the bank.

Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Specialist, Business Resilience will be responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Lead the design and implementation of an overall business continuity and crisis management framework for the bank including Threat Risk Assessment (TRA), IT service continuity, Incident Management, & Cyber-resilience.
  2. Develop, implement, manage, maintain and monitor an effective Enterprise Business Continuity Governance Framework consistently with the applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices and standards, especially SAMA BCM framework & ISO 22301.
  3. Continuity planning including conducting Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessment (RA), BCPs and exercises.
  4. Development of a BCM Capability Tool that measures the maturity and progress of the framework in accordance with the business requirements.
  5. Enabling the development and regular delivery of business continuity training, workshops and information sessions to ensure Bank staff are prepared for service disruptions and can resume operations as quickly as possible.
  6. Full coordination of the trained Business Continuity Teams in the response, recovery, restoration and resumption of all business operations in accordance with the business continuity plans, emergency response plans, crisis management plans and technology recovery plans.
  7. Work closely with IT DR team to ensure the existence of an effective IT DRP for critical systems and applications.
  8. Work closely with the Emergency Response Team to ensure on-going compliance in terms of trained members and preparedness.
  9. Work closely with all other Business Continuity Management Team role players including Facilities, Security, Human Resource, Cyber-resilience, etc.
  10. Coordinate Business Continuity Plan Exercises in accordance with the annual exercise schedule.
  11. Report the Business Continuity Status of Divisions / Business Units to Senior Management.
  12. Assist Bank in enhancing, formalizing and standardizing the business continuity planning process, by identifying and selecting BC strategies.
  13. Ensure regular reporting to the relevant governance committees providing assurance.
  14. Lead the BCMS continual improvement effort by identifying gaps through audit, reviews and exercises and implementing the agreed corrective actions.

Key Measures/KPIs
• Able to design and implement effective and high-quality governance frameworks in accordance with the relevant regulations, standards and best practice to ensure the risks are managed and compliance is adhered to.
• Able to respond; Recover, Restore and Resume Business operations with minimal impact to the business.
• Ensure that the BCM programme continuously operates at a minimum of Best Practice Maturity.
• Adequate levels of BCM capability are measured throughout the Bank.

Qualification & Experience:
• Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Master's is preferred) in Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, IT or other related discipline.
• Professional Certificates: Must have one or more BCM professional certificate from a trusted institution such as BCI, DRII, PECB or another relevant institute.
