The Senior Spa Therapist at Miraval The Red Sea is responsible for providing expert, mindful, and transformative spa treatments that promote holistic well-being for guests. This role encompasses leadership in spa services, guiding junior therapists while delivering high-quality treatments that integrate relaxation, mindfulness, and emotional healing. The Senior Spa Therapist will perform a wide range of services, including massage therapies, body treatments, facials, and holistic wellness rituals, while ensuring all therapies align with Miraval's philosophy of self-discovery, mindfulness, and emotional balance. Key Responsibilities
- Therapeutic Facilitation & Guest Engagement:
- Provide expert spa treatments including therapeutic massages, facials, body treatments, and wellness rituals, with a focus on holistic well-being and mindful relaxation.
- Guide guests through their spa journeys, integrating emotional well-being and mindfulness techniques to support personal transformation and healing.
- Offer personalized consultations, listening attentively to guests' needs and offering tailored solutions for their physical, mental, and emotional wellness.
- Lead mindful practices during treatments, helping guests reconnect with their bodies, release emotional tension, and achieve relaxation.
- Ensure guests leave feeling not only physically rejuvenated but also mentally and emotionally balanced, having experienced a holistic, mindful journey.
- Training, Evaluation And Skills Development:
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to junior therapists, ensuring alignment with Miraval's holistic philosophy and treatment standards. Share expertise generously to inspire growth and excellence.
- Regularly assess the performance and progress of team members through observations, feedback sessions, and practical assessments. Offer constructive, supportive input to encourage continuous improvement.
- Identify individual and team development needs and support ongoing learning through mentoring, workshops, and coaching. Cultivate a culture of personal and professional growth within the spa team.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor junior therapists, providing guidance on treatment techniques, guest engagement, and spa service excellence.
- Train new spa team members in Miraval's philosophy, ensuring that all therapists maintain the high standards of service and mindfulness expected of the spa.
- Foster a culture of mindfulness and empathy within the spa team, supporting colleagues in their personal and professional growth.
- Supervise spa operations, ensuring that treatment areas are properly maintained and organized, and equipment is clean, safe, and functioning.
- Collaborate with the Spa Manager and Wellness Leadership to ensure the team is aligned with resort goals and guest needs.
- Program Development & Spa Innovation:
- Contribute to the development of new and innovative spa programs and treatments, incorporating current trends in wellness, mindfulness, and emotional well-being.
- Integrate holistic wellness rituals, including aromatherapy, sound therapy, and energy healing, into guest experiences to promote mental and emotional healing.
- Stay informed on the latest wellness trends, continually improving service offerings and integrating mindfulness-based therapies into spa programs.
- Work with the well-being team to create customized wellness journeys that include a combination of spa therapies, mindful movement, and personal growth.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Maintain a serene, well-organized spa environment conducive to mindfulness and relaxation.
- Ensure all spa treatments are performed safely and professionally, with adherence to risk management protocols and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of guest preferences, treatments, and progress, ensuring continuity and personalized care for returning guests.
- Monitor inventory, expiry dates and quality of spa products and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards as per Saudi Arabia's wellness and hospitality regulations.
- Manage scheduling and duty rosters for therapists and spa attendants in alignment with business levels and operational needs, ensuring optimal team coverage and service flow.
- Guest Relations & Emotional Support:
- Build deep emotional connections with guests, offering guidance, emotional support, and personalized care during their spa experiences.
- Provide post-treatment advice, offering guests tips on maintaining their emotional and physical well-being after their spa visit.
- Foster an environment where guests feel completely comfortable, supported, and cared for, providing them with a safe space for relaxation and personal growth.
- Actively engage guests in conversation and mindfulness, helping them connect with their inner selves through each treatment.
- Inspire positive guest feedback across platforms by delivering exceptional, emotionally resonant spa experiences that reflect Miraval's mindful philosophy.
- Professional Development & Innovation:
- Engage in professional development by attending workshops and training in advanced spa techniques, mindfulness-based therapies, and wellness trends.
- Contribute to the development of new spa programs that reflect emerging wellness trends and align with Miraval's mindful philosophy.
- Actively participate in Miraval's professional development programs, sharing insights and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall guest experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Formal certification in massage therapy (e.g., CMT, CIDESCO, IATA or other), or other relevant wellness certifications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing spa treatments in a luxury wellness resort, retreat center, or holistic health setting with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge of a variety of spa therapies, including deep tissue massage, aromatherapy, facials, and body treatments.
- Strong understanding of holistic wellness, mindfulness practices, and emotional wellness techniques.
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
- Passion for wellness, mindfulness, and emotional healing, with a commitment to supporting guests through transformative experiences.
