Job Description: Azure Cloud Architect Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Architect Engineer to join our dynamic team. Our platform analyzes play patterns of children, providing diagnostic insights to teachers and parents using data analytics and machine learning. We are scaling our platform to support 200k concurrent players.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes, along with a strong background in cloud architecture and large-scale systems. We require extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure services, implementation of Apache Kafka, and Microsoft analytics solutions. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong DevOps skills and a proven track record of publishing products on the Microsoft Marketplace.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure to support Enterprise build.
2. Develop, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure efficient container orchestration.
3. Analyze current system performance and plan for future scaling requirements, ensuring optimal performance under high load conditions.
4. Develop and deploy advanced analytics solutions using Microsoft Analytics services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Azure Machine Learning.
5. Implement and manage robust security practices to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
6. Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.
7. Publish and manage applications and solutions on the Microsoft Marketplace.
8. Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
9. Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
10. Conduct regular assessments and audits of existing solutions to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance with industry standards.
11. Work closely with development, operations, and data science teams to align cloud solutions with business goals.
12. Optimize cloud resource usage to manage and reduce operational costs without compromising performance.
13. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
14. Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure developments, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve the architecture and processes.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3. In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
4. Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
5. Proven expertise in implementing and managing Apache Kafka.
6. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Analytics tools and services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Azure Machine Learning.
7. Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform.
8. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
9. Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
11. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
12. Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
