Senior Registrar Radiation Oncologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides the highest standard of medical care for patients, covering all duties.
2. Provides the highest standards of radiation therapy treatment.
3. Participates in the management of the physical and manpower resources of the department to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, including on-duty rota as directed by the Head of the Department.
4. Participates in the teaching of junior staff and technical staff in the department, as well as other teaching activities arranged by the department.
5. Participates in the planning of further development in the department.
6. Oversees regular medical audits within his/her care and organizes prospective studies of current medical topics in the department.
7. Deputizes for the Head of the Department during leave periods if required and shares the workload in his specialty during the absence of colleagues.
8. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities.
9. Demonstrates potential to improve clinical expertise as well as standards of practice regarding morbidity and cost-effectiveness.
10. Supports the quality assurance activities of the team and actively contributes to identifying needed improvements in current service provision and strategies for introducing these.
11. Participates in Environmental Safety Awareness, including CPR, Fire and Safety, Infection Control, and major disaster plans of the center as indicated.
12. Ensures continuous quality improvement and patient safety with full compliance to Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation Standards and Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).

Skills:

1. Saudi Board or equivalent with more than five (5) years of clinical experience.
2. Competence in the use of radiation therapy in the management of solid and hematological malignancies, with broad-based experience in anticipating and managing complications of cancers and radiation therapy.
3. Diverse clinical experience in treating patients with curative or palliative intents, including whole skin and hemi-body irradiation.
