The Senior Registrar - Psychiatry is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive psychiatric care to patients through remote telehealth services and physical clinics. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and developing personalized treatment plans for patients.
Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients
Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment planning for patients through secure telehealth platforms and in-person care
Gather patient history, observe patient behavior and mood, and administer appropriate diagnostic tests or questionnaires
Treatment Planning and Medication Management
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing and monitoring of psychiatric medications
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, utilizing remote patient monitoring technologies and data analytics
Collaborate with patients to set treatment goals, select appropriate therapies and medications, and regularly review and adjust treatment plans as needed
Coordinate and consult with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians and psychologists, to ensure seamless and integrated care for patients
Patient Education and Counseling
Provide patient education and counseling on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, medication management, and other mental health interventions using various digital tools and video conferencing technologies and in-person
Engage patients in shared decision-making, address their questions and concerns, and empower them to be active participants in their care
Clinical Documentation and Reporting
Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic medical records, including patient notes, treatment plans, and medication prescriptions
Ensure timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record system
Mental Health Awareness and Education
Participate in the development and implementation of new digital and non-digital health initiatives, including the creation of patient education materials, online resources, and telehealth program expansion
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our telehealth and digital care services by providing feedback, conducting research, and implementing evidence-based best practices
Clinical Mentorship and Education
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in digital mental health technologies and evidence-based practices
Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure the coordinated delivery of high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care
Skills
Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
Completion of residency training in Psychiatry from an accredited program.
Classified as Psychiatry Senior Registrar and carry a valid SCFHS license.
Proficiency in utilizing various telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital health technologies in the delivery of psychiatric care.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in digital mental health, including the use of mobile applications, online therapy, and remote patient monitoring.
Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic skills, and the ability to develop comprehensive and personalized treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and provide empathetic care.
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating integrated care for patients.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in digital mental health technologies and practices.
Experience in medical education, training, and mentoring junior medical staff is desirable.
