Job Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will ensure the collation of information to measure the financial and physical performance of projects against targets. He/She is also in charge of project estimations, reviews contractor payment requests, and assists the contract administrator to achieve an acceptable solution to claims and contractual disputes.

  • Assess cost-effectiveness of design of project packages and track the actual costs as the project package develops;
  • Analyze drawings and other documentation and prepare cost estimates including labor and materials;
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures;
  • Monitor and keep track of project progress and be responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account;
  • Maintain a data bank of costs and rates;
  • Formulate estimates and follow up on changes and adjustments to these cost estimates;
  • Develop monthly forecasting and cost reporting;
  • Value completed work and arrange payments;
  • Ensure compliance with subcontractor payment policy;
  • Check interim claims for payment and recommend values for certification;
  • Assist in resolution of contractual matters and deal with disputes and claims;
  • Prepare take offs from drawings and compare with site measurements;
  • Prepare enquiry and comparison and involve in the procurement;
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered;
  • Perform all other position-related duties as requested.

  • Ability to recognize contractual obligations of both the company and its subcontractors;
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials;
  • Demonstrate loyalty, honesty, and commitment;
  • Initiative to resolve problems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Team player.

  • FIDIC (Contract Management) is a plus.
