Job description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor prepares all cost aspects of civil and building works on projects, from inception to final account. To ensure all expenditure is kept to a minimum and all revenue is maximized as early as possible, all without compromising Employer/Subcontractor relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Obtain and expand knowledge base on all Civil and Building related matters as they relate to specific projects.
  2. Administer subcontractors and use Company procedures.
  3. Follow up with site construction team and technical team for collecting progress details.
  4. Ensure to manage Client Site Instructions and Variation Orders.
  5. Ensure that payment applications are submitted to the Employer no later than the due date.
  6. Prepare Cash Flow and Budget, including regular monitoring at least once per month.
  7. Ensure contractual and commercial support and correspondence.
  8. Prepare backup documentation and justification required for Client Instructions and/or interim Valuations.
  9. Complete and submit monthly cost value reconciliations, cost to complete reports, and profitability projections within 1 week of the Valuation submission.
  10. Place Subcontracts on standard approved terms and templates, and at a lesser amount as reflected in the allowable.
  11. Ensure all interim applications are received on time from Subcontractors and included into KCT applications.
  12. Ensure that payment certificates for Subcontractors are valued no more than the value applied for or certified from the Client, and processed on time.
  13. Ensure that all Packages preparation and Tendering Procedures are conformed with and correctly coordinated.
  14. Ensure all changes to the scope of the works are accompanied by signed off Variation Orders and payment/deduction secured from the Client/Project Manager and Back to Back with the Main Contract.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  1. Experience in the use of computer-based quantification and knowledge in using systems such as CCS (Candy).
  2. Knowledge in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  3. Experience in the optimal use of AutoCAD for Quantity Takeoff.
  4. Knowledge in preparation of Bill of Quantities with standard methods of measurement.
  5. Knowledge in Principles of Measurement (International) 1979, NRM2, CESSMMIII, QSSM, QCS, FIDIC.
  6. ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, with 5 years relevant working experience, and 2 years in GCC is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering.

Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying or any related field.
