Senior Quality Control Engineer

Overview:

The Senior Quality Control Engineer is a key member of our quality assurance team, responsible for executing comprehensive quality control testing of manufactured equipment. This role ensures compliance with customer specifications and international standards, ultimately driving customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct incoming goods and in-process inspections as assigned, reporting defects or non-conformities to the appropriate industrial functions for corrective action.
• Review all drawings and testing requirements for finished goods, ensuring QC engineers are well-informed to carry out final inspections effectively.
• Assign testing activities to QC engineers to distribute workload efficiently and meet target deadlines.
• Perform independent final inspections on manufactured products/equipment, documenting any defects for necessary corrections.
• Lead customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) independently, securing customer release for final products/equipment.
• Complete and file all necessary testing documentation for finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation and company health and safety regulations at all times.
• Monitor testing equipment calibration status, raising alerts if calibration is expired.
• Report on repetitive defects and observations to the QC Manager.
• Collaborate with the Quality Manager regarding all aspects of internal and external audits.
• Manage customer interactions during the FAT phase to meet testing requirements as per the established plans.
• Compile customer FAT feedback and lead weekly meetings with industrial functions to address comments and minimize response times.
• Provide support to the field service team upon request to ensure proper equipment operation during start-up and commissioning.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality control or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with proven management and leadership capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of ANSI, NEMA, UL, IEC, and NEC standards.
• Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and practices.
• Proficiency in using quality management software and statistical analysis tools.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and lead teams effectively.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and compliance regulations.
• Strong commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
