Senior QA/QC Engineer

The Senior QA/QC Engineer ensures that work/projects are delivered based on good work practices and project specifications to guarantee completion of work at the given time with quality of work that meets or even exceeds the clients' expectations by implementing international quality standards plans and quality procedures in all the construction activities.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee the quality and workmanship of every activity, having thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural, and Structural disciplines interfacing the multidisciplinary operations.
2. Manage the QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other QA/QC documents.
3. Develop and determine all standards to perform inspections and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods while maintaining high standards of quality for all processes.
4. Follow the QA/QC Plans, Approved Method Statements, Approved Test Plans, and Approved Drawings during the project to meet the project quality requirements and client’s expectations.
5. Ensure that all available Method Statements, ITPs, and Drawings are approved and the latest revisions are followed on sites.
6. Ensure that all superseded documents are removed from the site.
7. Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit them to the consultant to ensure they cover all the construction activities done on site.
8. Ensure that all site items are inspected thoroughly before calling the consultant for inspection.
9. Advise the construction team for corrections/corrective actions to avoid the rejection of work.
10. Ensure that all drawings used in the inspection are approved and the latest revisions are followed.
11. Ensure that 90% of work inspections pass during the first submission.
12. Conduct the quality toolbox and method statements briefing for all activities.
13. Maintain records of method statements briefing in the monthly Quality report.
14. Ensure all incoming materials are checked as per the project specifications and approved material submittals.
15. Inspect all materials internally before offering inspection to the consultant and raise an NCR to the supplier in case of rejecting any material delivered to site, keeping records of inspection in the monthly Quality report.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as: ISO 9001, QCS, ASTM, BSI, BSEN, ACI, and AASHTO. Have enough technical experience with QC issues. Ability to prioritize and multitask as well as being proactive and deadline-oriented. Ability to interact effectively in English. Ability to read drawings, specifications, standards, and data sheets. Proficient in computer applications and systems such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Primavera. Ability to supervise/execute whole sections of a project with minimum management supervision. ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years relevant working experience, and 2 years in GCC is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering. Professional Qualification in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent) or ASQC certification (CQM/CQE).
