Purpose
You will provide Mechanical engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the mechanical engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Have high experience in gas compressors and their auxiliary systems.
- Have advanced understanding of vibration and rotor dynamics.
- Have adequate skills in condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of international standards, and Saudi Aramco standards are a requirement.
- General understanding of rotating equipment is also necessary.
- Vibration analyst certification is preferred.
- Develop engineering design packages for new installations and upgrade projects.
- Review Project Proposals and Detailed Design packages for new facilities.
- Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.
- Analyze system performance and find solutions for energy saving.
- Ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions to any upgrade.
- Make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.
- Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities.
- Assist in the training, development, and mentoring of younger staff.
- Manage mechanical engineering services that meet Worley's, its customers', and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures.
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Act as the mechanical engineering Rotating Lead on specific projects.
If responsible for a team:
Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress; and proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering. Assist and support junior personnel within the mechanical engineering team. Communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Technical and Industry Experience
- Experience with compressors, pipelines in-line compressor design.
- Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its clients.
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and mechanical engineering specific software.
- Extensive technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
