Purpose: You will provide Mechanical engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the mechanical engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- High experience in gas compressors and their auxiliary systems.
- Advanced understanding of vibration and rotor dynamics.
- Adequate skills in condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of international standards, and Saudi Aramco standards are a requirement.
- General understanding of rotating equipment.
- Vibration analyst certification is preferred.
- Develop engineering design packages for new installation and upgrade projects.
- Review Project Proposals and Detailed Design packages for new facilities.
- Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.
- Analyze system performance and find solutions for energy saving.
- Ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions to any upgrade.
- Make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.
- Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities.
- Assist in the training, development, and mentoring of younger staff.
- Manage mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures.
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Act as the mechanical engineering Rotating Lead on specific projects.
- If responsible for a team, outline project requirements, actively promote workshare, assign tasks, and supervise progress.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.
- If required, assist and support junior personnel within the mechanical engineering team.
- Communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Experience with compressors, pipelines in-line compressor design.
- Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its clients.
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and mechanical engineering specific software.
- Extensive technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
