Senior Planning Engineer

Job Summary

• Able to develop Baseline Program.
• Ability to develop schedules from scratch to handover.
• Knowledge of schedule hierarchy level 1,2,3,4,5.
• Preparation, maintenance of Schedule Health and Quality Networks for Portfolio Projects.
• Assist preparation of planning, reporting and risk management governance procedures.
• Ability to carry out Schedule Risk Analysis using Monte Carlo or equivalent tools.
• Ability to prepare proposal schedules.
• Ability to develop progress measurement systems in Excel or equivalent ERP tools.
• Competent in Earned Value Management.
• Ability to prepare S-Curves, Commodity Release and Installation curves.
• Ability to run Critical Path analysis, administer Cloud based Primavera (P6 EPPM) or equivalent planning tools.
• Knowledge of Material and Subcontractors schedule from initiation to award.
• Expert in extension of time schedule and claim preparation.
• Assist in preparation of Corporate Project Milestones, Project Commercial and Cost Rate Reporting, analyzing, and recommending solutions to improve unit rates, productivity, and cost savings ideas.
• Develop and maintain tracking tools for Bulk Materials, long lead Materials, Subcontracts, Crafts and Professional staff.
• Has the ability to lead Forecasting and/or Value engineering for a project at various stages of the project.
• Assist in the development of templates, dashboards, and best practices.
• Contract interpretation of Portfolio projects.
• Ability to influence team members without having formal authority.
• Strong work ethics, self-motivation, collaborator/team player.

• Ability to steer project managers and department managers.

• Training Site Planning Engineers.
• Periodical Auditing Projects from a Planning, Scheduling and Reporting perspective.
• Mentoring and Coaching Junior Planning Engineers.
• Strong command of verbal, written, spoken English / presentation skills.

Qualification / Skills and Experience:

• Regular Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil/Architecture and Electrical Engineering. A master's degree will be an added advantage.
• 14+ years of relevant experience working with a prominent Contractor or EPCM background.
• ERP and Tools: P6 EPPM, TILOS (optional), Acumen Fuse, MS Projects, Milestones Professionals.
• Certification from professional bodies such as AACE and PMI, Earned Value Measurements techniques.
