Senior Operations Manager

As the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our transportation network, including fleet management, route planning, driver management, and logistics optimization. You will ensure the timely delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will guide a team of operational staff and help drive strategic initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the transportation network, including fleet management, route planning, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize fleet performance, reduce costs, and increase delivery efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of operations professionals, including dispatchers, drivers, and logistics coordinators.
• Monitor performance metrics such as on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, and customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with overall business objectives and drive growth.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
• Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and implement best practices.
• Lead efforts to integrate technology solutions (e.g., route optimization software, fleet management tools) to improve productivity and service levels.
• Manage operational budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial goals are met.
• Handle escalated operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 13 years of experience in operations management within the transportation or logistics industry, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in fleet management, route planning, and logistics operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using transportation management software (e.g., TMS, GPS tracking, fleet management systems).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
